Spring Community Bike Ride:

Join the Cambridge Bicycle Committee for a 10 mile scenic ride through Cambridge’s bike network. The ride is open to all ages, but please make sure children are accompanied by caregivers.
 The Port Arts Fest:  Saturday, May 20  10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Community Art Center 119 Windsor St.

Come out to the Port Arts Fest for live music, an array of food trucks, local artists, and even the opportunity to paint a community mural. This event is sponsored by the Community Arts Center and is always a great time painting in the street, watching muralists create art, and indulging in tasty eats. If you'd like to volunteer, you can sign up to do so using the link in my story. There's plenty of work to go around, so bring a friend!

Cambridge-Somerville Asian Festival: Saturday, May 20 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Foundry 101 Rogers St.  Celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Month at the Cambridge-Somerville Asian Festival with live cultural dances, karaoke, art projects, and the chance to have cookies with City Manager Huang!   Wild Rabbit Community Moto Show: Saturday, May 20 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Naco Taco 297 Massachusetts Ave

If you're looking for thrill, come out to the Wild Rabbit Community Moto Show at Naco Taco to see a motorcycle show, dance as you munch on tacos, and even enter to win some great prizes in a raffle.  Inman Eats and Crafts 2023: Sunday, May 21 Noon to 4 p.m. Inman Square 1310 Cambridge St.

Join the East Cambridge Business Association once again for the annual Inman Eats and Crafts 2023! Watch Cambridge Street transform into a walkway of delicious food and handmade crafts of all kinds. As always, there will be live music and even a beer garden to enjoy. Don’t forget to purchase Inman Bucks which can be used at any of the food vendors along Cambridge Street. Volunteers make events like Inman Eats and Crafts go 'round! If you'd like to volunteer, sign up using the link in my story.

Did you hear??? The Play Streets/Block Party policy was updated! During last night’s council meeting the Community Development Department responded to my policy order requesting improvements to make it easier for folks to host Play Streets and block parties on their blocks.

We know Play Streets and block parties are essential for community building in neighborhoods, and especially coming out of the coronavirus pandemic we have seen how essential community is to neighborhoods.

Thank you for all of your help! Yesterday concluded the 6th annual Warm Hearts for Warm Feet Sock Drive. Together we were able to keep our unhoused neighbors and friends warm with new wool socks.

There’s still time for you to donate directly to CASPAR/BayCove via the link in my bio, and if you have any lingering socks, you can drop them off through the end of the week.
