What an absolutely fantastic ride this morning wit What an absolutely fantastic ride this morning with Mayor John Bauters of Emeryville, CA through Cambridge, Somerville and Arlington showing him the protected bike infrastructure we’ve put in to make cycling safer & encourage people to mode shift! We are building a network of protected bike infrastructure through each municipality, because we know safety doesn’t stop at our borders. Thanks to @petrusofio & Joe Barr of #CambMA TP&T for organizing and to everyone who joined us! Mayor Bauters, you are welcome back ANYTIME 🚴🏾‍♀️🍦
What a wonderful time at the Foundry Ribbon Cuttin What a wonderful time at the Foundry Ribbon Cutting! It was such a pleasure to see this project begin to take shape before it opens to the public this September. We heard from several speakers who were integral to seeing this project come to fruition and who spoke of the community effort in East Cambridge to provide design feedback that ultimately made this project a product of many hands. This building, which was once a factory, will soon serve as a multipurpose hub for arts and a bridge to Kendall Square’s innovation district for our residents.

Special thanks to Tom Evans and the team at Cambridge Development Authority for yet another repurposing project, the architects at CambridgeSeven, the members of the Foundry Consortium, and the many other mothers and fathers of this great project.

This year marks the 43rd year of the Boston Hong K This year marks the 43rd year of the Boston Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, the largest Asian cultural festival in New England. It started in 1979 and today's event brings people from the entire New England area to compete in the race. There are over a hundred teams and competitions that happen all over the country to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.

The mission of the Festival is to provide a common setting through which people of diverse backgrounds can cross cultural boundaries. I was proud and honored to participate in the eye dotting ceremony alongside some VIPs like Councilor Ed Flynn from Boston, the Chinese Ambassador Qin Gang & so many more.

According to Chinese legends, once a dragon’s eyes are painted, it can come alive and soar. Good luck to all the racers today, already looking forward to next years event 🐉🚤
